Emily & Aaron: A Costa Rica Church Wedding
Thank you Emily and Aaron for allowing us to take pictures of such an important day in your life.
Emily and Aaron married on a warm Saturday afternoon in a church in Cariari, Costa Rica. We started the day in a nearby salon where we took photos of Emily having her hair and makeup done, which came out great. The stylist curled her hair beautifully and did a wonderful job with the makeup, after which she helped Emily try on her veil and crown to see how she wanted to wear the veil for the wedding ceremony. Running late, we returned to Emily's house quickly where she got dressed even quicker and then took a few portraits before heading to the church.
At the church, the bridal party, family and friends, and Aaron were waiting for the bride to appear. The church was a large warehouse-type structure that was converted into a house of worship. It had many side windows and large doorways in the front that allowed much natural light to pour into the church from the sides and front. This made for wonderful side and rear lighting and dramatic shadows, but it complicated illuminating Emily and Aaron's faces, as well as those of their family, friends, and bridal party given that there was no overhead light source or light entering from the rear of the building. Regardless, we managed to get great pictures of Emily and Aaron and their loved ones.
After the ceremony, we took portraits of the bride and groom and family and friends under the arc near the front of the church. We then went to the reception hall next door where Emily and Aaron celebrated their matrimony, dancing their first dance, where they and family and friends spoke a few words in honor of the bride and groom, and where Emily and Aaron toasted to their wedding day and future together.
Emily and Aaron, we wish you the best.
