Amanda & Wayne Dreams Las Mareas Beach Wedding
Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Just before sunset, on a quiet Monday afternoon on a secluded tropical beach at Dreams Las Mareas in Costa Rica, Amanda and Wayne said "I do".
Before they tied the knot, Amanda started her wedding day in the spa with her bridesmaids where they had their hair, nails, and makeup done, while the groom and the groomsmen got ready in a suite. After the spa, Amanda and her bridesmaids went to the honeymoon suite where her mother and bridesmaids helped her put on her amazing wedding dress and veil and prepared the beautiful bridal bouquet and bridesmaids floral bouquets. In the suite, the groom and groomsmen helped each other with the bowties and boutonnieres and had a champaign toast before heading to the site for the beach ceremony.
On the beach, the bride and groom's family watched as the groom, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the ring bearer, and flower girl all made their way to the altar located not far from the shoreline. After the flower girl tossed red flower petals on the beach sand leading to the altar, Amanda's mother escorted her to the altar where Wayne, who had a loving smile from ear to ear, was waiting with much anticipation.
It was a beautiful wedding ceremony on a beautiful day during a glowing sunset. A family friend accompanied them from New York to officiate the wedding. In front of their family and friends, Amanda and Wayne said their vows, exchanged their rings, and sealed it with a kiss as their guests shouted "Mazel tov"! as Wayne broke a glass with his foot. Afterwards, Amanda and Wayne poured purple and blue sand into a decorative glass vase to symbolize their union.
After the ceremony, we went closer to the shoreline so Amanda and Wayne would have amazing bride and groom portraits, and portraits of them with the bridesmaids and groomsmen as the sun set in the Pacific Ocean, which was followed by a cocktail hour with live music, formal family wedding pictures, and the wedding reception.
For the music, Amanda and Wayne brought a DJ friend from New York who had everyone dancing to great music. The reception started with the bride and groom making their entrance and then dancing their first dance. After the speeches by Amanda's sister and Wayne's brother and a bit of everyone dancing, the guests hoisted the bride and groom while they sat in chairs above the crowd for the Hora as their family and friends danced around them in a circle chanting "Hava Nagila". It was quite the experience. Then, Amanda and Wayne cut their delicious-looking wedding cake, shared it, and then danced the rest of the night away.
We thank Amanda and Wayne for having us photograph one of the most important days in their life and for trusting us with the memories of this very special day. We are very grateful and we wish both of you many days of happiness!
